OUR GUEST ARTIST  LYDIA SALETT

Born in Cleveland Ohio, Lydia Salett was initially drawn and exposed to gospel music. However, a new journey began in 2003 when she felt called to branch out to learn another genre of music, Jazz. She began taking private lessons with Ed Paolantonio which evidentially led her to part-time
studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill) under the direction of Dr. Jim Ketch and Dr. Stephen Anderson. The fruit  of Lydia branching out is quite evident in her 2008 released debut single Green in which Lydia has composed a love song that captures the imagery akin to the writers of Tin Pan Alley, creating a beautiful marriage between verse and music. Her latest release a tune entitled Sunsets is featured on UNCs latest jazz project titled TENOR VIBE (2010).

Currently, Lydia is working on a CD project entitled Forms of Freedom set to be released in January 2013.
